This is a Vintage 1930s Union Instrument Precision U.S. Drafting Tool which came out of an estate and it is in good display and in good usable condition. Imprinted on it is "U.S., 8," Union Instr. Corp Plainfield, N.J." The center mechanism rotates 360 degrees, the outer scales go from 190 to 350 degrees in both directions and the inner scale goes from 30 to 0 to 30 degrees. It is crafted of stainless with brass knobs and there is a spring loaded tension bar. It comes in a fitted cloth covered wooden case with a felt lined interior which likely dates back to the 1930s or earlier. In the case it measures 2"x7-1/2"x14-1/2" and weighs 4 pounds.
