This is a Vintage 1928 Black Decker 5/8" 500 RPM Electric Drill which came out of a commercial estate and it is in good looking and in good working condition. It is made by Black and Decker Mfg. Co. of Towson, Md. and has patent numbers which correspond with the years 1917 through 1928. It features heavy 1/4" to 1/2" diecast aluminum casing throughout, patented 1902 Jacobs 5/8" Drill Chuck with drill chuck key, and a bronze trigger with an automatic on mechanism which releases when you press the trigger. "Electric drills are no longer made this way in the U.S." would be a gross understatement. It measures 4-1/2"x12"x18" and weighs 20 pounds.
